Chopped strand mat (or CSM as it is often known) is the most widely used of all composite reinforcement materials.Short strands of glass are randomly scattered and bound to create a mat which can then be wetted out with resin and used as a general purpose reinforcement for traditional fibreglass (GRP/FRP) moulds or parts.

Chopped Strand Mats are non-woven fabrics consisting of randomly distributed chopped strand held together with a powder or emulsion binder.Chopped Strand Mat is compatible with unsaturated polyester ,winyl ester,epoxy and phenolic resins.The products are most widely used in hand lay-up process and can also be used in filament winding,compression molding and continuous laminating processes.The typical end-use applications include various panels,boats,FRP roofing sheet,Automotive parts,bathroom equipment and cooling towers.
Production Feature:
1.The three-dimensional structure between the layers has fiber distribution in three dimensions,which greatly increases the mechanical uniformity of the three-dimensional direction of the product and reduces anisotropy.
2.Needled by the chopped strand or continuous filament.
3.It will be porous structure when heated.the structure avoids the defects caused by the air embedded into the products.
4.Evenly distribution makes sure the smoothness of the finished.

Unless otherwise specified ,chopped strand mats should be stored in a cool,dry,water-proof area.It is recommended that the room temperature and humidity be always maintained at 15ºC to 35ºC and 35% to 65% respectively .
