Corn germ cleaning and pressing technology

Corn germ oil, which are extracted from corn germ. Corn germ contain oil 17-45%. The characteristics of fatty acid in corn oil is as high as 80-85% unsaturated fatty acid content. Corn oil to dissolve the effects of cholesterol in the blood, it can reduce the hardening effect on blood vessels.

Technological process:

1. Cleaning: grits recycling of corn germ, mixed more corn flour, powder and scurfy, need to use double deck vibrating screen to screen. Screen top wire eye, the first layer clear big miscellaneous; The second remove corn flour, net weight and scurfy, in order to reduce the loss of the corn germ. 

2. Drying: to keep corn germ freshness from corn process of wet method in storage and transportation, after cleaning up the corn germ, shall be immediately to dry or drying to the moisture content is below 10%.

 

3. Softening:the important process for preparing corn germ oil. In this process, make the corn germ in heat treatment of the moisture content is below 10% at the same time, make the material embryogenesis plastic changes. Soften the commonly used hot air dryer or heat steam roller dryer, should not be when material embryo in the softening temperature, rapid, in order to prevent the premature protein denaturation and make the material embryo lose elasticity, then affects flaking, steaming and frying, and oil processing.

4. Flaking: corn germ after softening treatment, to use Rolling machine for rolling into 0.3 -0.4 mm thinckness, promote cell structure destruction, shortening oil, facilitate embryo steaming and frying, and squeezing

 

5. Steaming and frying, the embryo go into the steaming and frying equipment,for heating by 40 to 50 minutes, finally make embryo temperature over 100 ºC, material moisture content of embryo gradually reduced to 3% - 4%, with material embryo color gradient to brownish red, and can not anxious burnt smell smell.

Or using Extruder & Press Technology, the expanded material into the press, to obtain good quality hair oil, and cakes.

6.Corn germ Pressing

Pressing method adopts screw press or hydraulic press. The choice of screw press is according to the scale of production, the bigger production factory, can choose the our Model YS-200 Screw press, the machine production is big, cake residual low, continuous operation.

 "crude corn germ Oil" is not resistant to storage due to moisture and impurities content is higher, need to the hydration, alkali refining, and deodorization after refining, to obtain high quality refined corn oil.
