Magnesium chloride hexahydrate, also known as  chloride chemical formula MgCl2·6H2O, molecular weight:203. 3. Colorless crystals, columnar or needle-like, with a bitter taste. It is easily soluble in water and ethanol, and is prone to deliquescence when the humidity is high. 116 ~ 118 °C hot melt decomposition. Mixed with magnesium oxide and water to form magnesium cement. Reacts with hydroxides of alkaline or alkaline earth metals.
